There are so many perks to campus living!

All residents have access to a variety of campus resources that support intellectual growth, healthy lifestyles, and personal safety. Life at UBC Okanagan is truly a home-away-from-home where residents can pursue their academic and personal goals in a safe, comfortable, and fun environment.

Stay Connected

At university, reliable communications tools are a must—for learning purposes and to stay in touch with family and friends. Each room has a port for high-speed Internet. UBC residents can choose to set up wireless Internet or a landline phone in the room at an extra cost. All residences have common areas with Wi-Fi and free basic cable where many students enjoy socializing and studying.

Easy Eating

At UBC, there’s no need to cook or clean dirty dishes. Students who live in Cassiar, Valhalla, Nicola, Kalamalka, Purcell, Skeena and Similkameen Place purchase a mandatory meal plan. Other residents can choose to purchase an optional meal plan for convenience and extra savings. Meal plan dollars are valid at participating campus food outlets and many off-campus partner locations.

All mail addressed to residences is delivered to the Nicola Housing Office, and is available for pick up Monday to Friday. Find out your mailing address, or learn more about the process of receiving mail and parcels on our FAQ page.

Maintenance Services

Getting something fixed is easy. Residents can use the Online Service Centre to request maintenance or repairs in their suite. We try to respond to requests within two business days.

Sustainability is a shared value at UBC. All residents are expected to use recycling facilities frequently and properly, especially when moving in or out.

Safety & Security

UBC is a safe campus. Residents can call Safewalk for an escorted walk home or simply pick up a 24-hour blue phone to connect with UBC Security. There are regular nightly patrols of residence properties and resources to help students prepare for an emergency and prevent crime.
