Planning for the big day

Moving into residence takes preparation. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth move in experience.

Move-in day is exciting – and busy! There’s a lot to do (and know behorehand) as you prepare to make UBC Okanagan home! And we’re here every step of the way to make the transition as smooth as possible!

On Your Move-In Day

Step 1 – Prepare

Complete these checklists: What to pack and Things to do Before you leave home.

Step 2 – Arrive, Check in, and Unload

See “Arriving by car”/”Arriving by taxi” and the map below for details on where to proceed once you’ve reached campus.

Please note:

1. Plan your route to arrive at Nechako Residence to check in.

2. Don’t forget to bring your I.D.

Step 3 – Park, Recharge, and Get Settled

Need a long-term parking pass? Apply for wait list at UBC Parking.

Arriving by car?

First off, GPS is great for getting to UBC Okanagan, but once you’re close to campus, follow our signs (or use the map below).

  1. Arrive at Nechako Residence, where staff will check you in.
  2. Please bring ID.
  3. Proceed to your residence building!

Arriving by taxi?

Students arriving by taxi should proceed to Nechako Residence and ask their driver to remain waiting in the vehicle.

Check in at the front desk, then you can proceed to your building to move in.
