Mandatory for all residents. No family or friends, please 👍
- Need to make a payment? The Student Housing office will be open on Move In Day, 8:30 am–midnight, to take housing payments.
- Need to buy a laundry card? On Move In Day, you can buy a pre-loaded laundry card for $20—cash only—at the “Laundry Card” booth outside the Student Housing office. An ATM is located in the UNC building, 1st floor, if you need one!
- Family dog coming along for the ride? It will be a hot day. Consider leaving your pet with Bark’n Fly, which is near campus and has a special Move In Day rate. Find out more on the Parent Conference web page.
What to Expect
Check in—Once you arrive at your residence building, come inside to check in and pick up your unit keys. Don’t forget your Photo ID, which you’ll need for check-in.
Unload—There are designated unloading zones in front of each residence building. Volunteers from UBC Okanagan Athletics (thanks UBCO Heat!) will be there to help unload your vehicle and move your stuff to your new room.
Unpack—After it’s unloaded, move your car to a nearby parking lot—parking on campus is free today! Then head back to your room to unpack. Family and friends are welcome to stay and help.
Recharge—It’ll be a long day. Pack some snacks and drinks or grab a bite to eat at a nearby campus eatery, which will accept cash, debit, credit and meal plan dollars with your UBCcard.
Attend—Don’t miss your 1:30 pm Floor Meeting (students) and Parent Conference (parents).
Get Social—Say goodbye to family and friends and get ready to meet your roommates, community and Residence Advisors.
If you’re arriving between 12 pm (noon) and midnight on Sunday, September 1, check in and pick up your keys at the Move In Booth, located outside the Student Housing office.
Only eligible students can arrive on an earlier date. An application is required.
